After barcamps, here comes Ignites… Philippe Jeudy is surely building a bridge between Paris and San Francisco, and he’s doing this both way : this Californian spirit in Paris sure is refreshing. Ignite is a pretty simple idea: you can talk about whatever you want, as long as it takes 5 minutes sharp, using 20 slides, 15 seconds for each slide, no less, no more… talking about constraints…

The exercise is pretty funny, and a dozen people came to beta test the concept in France as speakers. All in all, the Dune Café, a famous geek place in Paris, was full for this first Ignite edition. Speakers ranged from a really surprising 14yo boy, Arthur, who was probably the one who best adapted his slides to the timing constraints, totaly mastering his presentation (pretty amazing for a teenager!) to a more mature and experienced speaker (and I’m affraid, being 38, I’m part of the later bunch), as we say in France, ‘youngsters from 7 to 77 yo’.

Can’t wait for the second edition.
Ended up having diner with Mekameta, Janetti from Web2expo and her cousin Pierre, very nice talk with very smart people (not to mention an american girl eating weird french food, but after taking a look at her blog, her Korean side was probably responsable for that
Cool start for a sunny week end…
Oh, by the way… here’s my slide, just in case you care
