A few days ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced a massive strategy to massively introduce electric cars in California, smart move, but obviously, he’s just doing something totally inevitable. By doing this now instead of waiting a few more years, he is probably going to seed some very innovative startups - quite easy to do for a politician in such a rich field.
A few days ago, because transportation in France (like in many country) is massively done using roads, truckers asked the government for a tax decrease on oil in order to ’survive’.

Survive? How can you possibly tell Dinosaurs they’re going to survive a meteorite? Oil is going up, and it’s not going to stop, everybody know that, so what’s the use spending so much money to help a dying way of transporting goods, why not invest in railroads instead?

How about this one: red tuna is a endangered species, no question about that, but still, our government is asking the European parliament to increase their fishing authorisation… What’s the idea? Getting rid of those F***ing fish?

And how about creating a new tax on Internet providers to finance a dying TV industry who can’t cope with the ever dropping ad spending on an inefficient media (in an ad point of view), yep, you guessed, we’re doing that here.
Is the government trying to kill the Internet? Think about that: France has one of the most advanced technical infrastructure when it comes to high bandwidth access, optical fiber is a reality here, and beside Korea, very few country are better than us at this game.
Still, we’re among the last in Europe when it comes to usage, half of the population has access to the Internet (80% in Sweden, 75% in England…). So what does the government feels like doing to solve this? More infrastructure.

Sounds stupid? Welcome in France.
